The next EMnet business meeting on Africa will take place on Friday 30 September at the OECD Conference Centre in Paris, France.
Following the OECD International Economic Forum on Africa held on 29 September, the meeting on Investing in Growing African Cities will gather top executives, high-level policy makers and OECD experts to discuss the role of private investment in supporting urbanisation in Africa.
The event will build on the key findings of the 2016 edition of the OECD African Economic Outlook which highlights how urbanisation will be critical to the continent’s future growth and development. 
According to the Outlook, two-thirds of the investments in urban infrastructure until 2050 have yet to be made. In this context, the private sector has a decisive role to play in supporting the development of efficient and sustainable cities.

Veolia will be participating at this event, represented by Patrice Fonlladosa, President & CEO Veolia Africa Middle East during a panel discussion in Session 1 on "Mobilising the private sector for Africa’s urbanisation" from 9.50 - 11.10.

The OECD Development Centre, the African Union Commission and the OECD Sahel and West Africa Club are pleased to announce that the International Economic Forum on Africa will take place next 29 September, at the OECD Headquarters in Paris. This 16th edition will discuss the opportunities and challenges of the urbanisation process in Africa, looking into how to address informality in urban areas, the role of cities as drivers of economic transformation, and innovative ways to provide adequate and predictable financing for local governments and municipalities.

Veolia will be participating at this event, represented by Patrice Fonlladosa, President Veolia Africa during a panel discussion in Session 2 on "African cities for all African citizens" from 13.30 - 15.00.
