Endeavour Grant Winner Working to Improve Public Policy for Indigenous Australians

The winner of Veolia’s inaugural Endeavour Grant, Aaron Hoffman, is working towards improving the development of public policy for Indigenous Australians.

Aaron is currently completing a Master’s degree in Governance and Public Policy at the University of Queensland, with a particular research focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education and employment.

“My goal is to work on the boards of local Indigenous organisations to help them access resources to improve service delivery to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in Queensland. Coming from the Iman language group in central Queensland, I am committed to improving outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, particularly in the areas of early childhood development, education and employment.”

Aaron received $5,000 towards his studies through the Endeavour Grants program, which is assisting to cover costs for his research project.  The grants aim provide financial assistance to students in central and southeast Queensland wanting to undertake further study in the areas of science and engineering, Indigenous studies, community development or sustainability.
