Even distribution on the soil of animal farming effluent, soil improver, fertilizer, plant health products, wastewater treatment plant sludge, etc.
A facility designed to treat and store waste under optimum conditions of safety. In the European Union, there are three categories of landfills:
- Landfills for stabilized or inert hazardous waste (Class 1 in France);
- Landfills for municipal and similar waste (Class 2 in France);
- Landfills for HW (household waste) and non-hazardous industrial waste, that is, non-hazardous and inert waste (Class 3 in France).
See biogas.
Resource cycle governed by natural phenomena (rivers, lakes, groundwater tables, clouds, oceans, ice).
When landfilled, under the combined action of rainwater and natural fermentation, waste produces a liquid fraction called “leachate.
When stored and under the combined action of rain water and natural fermentation, waste produces a liquid fraction called "leachates". These materials are rich in organic materials and trace elements, cannot be released into the natural environment directly and must be treated.
Grease concentrate produced by the Lipoval treatment process for greasy liquid waste. Lipofit’s characteristics are close to those of heavy fuel oil, except that it has a significantly lower sulfur content. Under regulations, it is considered as a fuel in its own right that can be used in facilities classified as 2910B (i.e., combustion units).
A separation process for greasy liquid waste mainly from restaurant grease traps (80%), but also from food industry and wastewater treatment plant oil removal units. The Lipoval process involves the dynamic separation of fatty waste into three phases: a fatty concentrate recoverable as a replacement fuel (Lipofit), solid sediment and a treated aqueous phase that can be released into the wastewater system.
Liquefied Petroleum Gas
The definition varies from country to country. In the widest sense of the expression, it describes the connection of low-income homes, carried out at lower cost and offered for a lower price and/or with easy payment terms. In some countries, such as Gabon, this type of connection is proposed to people who commit to keeping their water and electricity consumption below specified thresholds and therefore benefit from a preferential price.
