Veolia Transport signs operating contract for Line 1 of the Mumbai metro

Veolia Transport India has signed a five-year contract to prepare the commissioning and operation of the future Line 1 of the Mumbai metro. The client is the concession-granting company with responsibility for the project.

The Bordeaux urban community has chosen Veolia Environnement to operate the waste-to-energy plant and heating network of the Hauts de Garonne

Veolia Environnement, via the combination of its subsidiaries Soval and Dalkia, has been awarded the public service delegation contract for the operation of the thermal complex of Hauts de Garonne. This 12-year contract corresponds with a cumulative turnover of roughly 180 million Euros for Veolia Environnement. It will be effective as of 1st January 2009.

Veolia Transport pursues expansion in Asia with signature of first contract in China

Veolia Transport China Limited, the Chinese subsidiary of Veolia Transport, has signed a partnership agreement with Nanjing Zhongbei. The agreement covers the creation of a joint venture to operate the transportation systems in six Chinese cities for a period of 30 years.

Veolia Environnement industrializes the “Zero Nuisance Piggeries (ZNP)” process

The Water Research Center operated by Veolia Environnement, with Veolia Eau région Ouest (Veolia Water for the West Region) and their partners has developed the “Zero Nuisance Piggeries” (ZNP) prototype, which improves pig slurry treatment, so as to better respect the environment. Thanks to the re-use of treated water, this process makes it possible to save water. After having been successfully tested on the pig house experimental station site in Guernévez (Finistère-France), this patented process can henceforth be industrialized.

Veolia Environnement and Mubadala launch a joint venture company to build a strategic partnership in the Middle East, North Africa (MENA) Region

Mubadala Development Company (Mubadala) and Veolia Water today announced their intention to create a joint-venture company that will focus on the areas of water production and waste water collection and treatment in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This activity could later lead to further joint ventures for other business sectors of the Veolia Environnement Group.

On the occasion of the World Conservation Congress of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), which is being held in Barcelona, Spain, from October 5 to 14, 2008, Veolia Environnement and the French Committee of the IUCN are pleased to announce the signature of a partnership agreement.
