Announcing the 2011 winners!

On June 16th, Antoine Frérot awarded the Student Solidarity Awards to the following four associations:

The four winning associations

"Ingénieurs du monde", association of the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, for a project developing renewable energy in Nepalese schools;

"Istom Student Environnemental Expertise ", an ISTOM (Ecole d'Ingénieur d'Agro-Développement International) association, for a project building a plant nursery to decrease the over-exploitation of the forests' resources and to protect the biodiversity of the National Limpopo Park in Mozambique;

"Captive 2000", association of the ESIGELEC, Ecole Supérieure d'Ingénieur en Génie Electrique, for the creation of a pocket electronic dictionary in Braille;

"Paris Ouest Etudiants en Médecine et Solidarité (POEMES) ", association of the Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines University, for the renovation of a maternity in a village of Burkina Faso, while raising awareness on HIV and hygiene.

The jury's choice

Faced with a large number of quality projects, the jury also decided to award a "coup de coeur" (jury's choice) to the association "Student's European Network for Sustainable Development (SENSD)" from Euromed Management. Their project aims to develop an interactive internet platform which will allow the numerous european student associations involved in the field of sustainable development to exchange information, good practices and projects.
