Student Solidarity Awards: the 2012 winners

The Student Solidarity Awards 2012 ceremony took place on June 14. Four student associations were recognized by the jury; one of these associations was awarded the "Coup de Coeur" (jury's choice).

First Prize:

AFEV-Poitiers, a students' association for the "KAPS - Koloc' à projets solidaires" project presented by students of the University of Poitiers for joint tenancy in Poitiers.

Second Prize

Solidago, a students' association of Chimie ParisTech, ESTP and the Paris-Descartes Medical School, for their project for building a drinking water supply system in two Madagascan villages (Ambohipeno and Niabana) and for monitoring the systems built by the association since 2006.

Third Prize

Magisphère, a students' association of the Panthéon-Sorbonne University, which plans to build and equip a school for children and a sewing shop for young illiterate women in the village of Ganga Bigha (southern Bihar in India).

Special Prize

Faced with the difficulty of picking one of the many quality projects, the jury again decided this year to award an additional Special Prize to a student association of ESSEC, World Wom'Ents, for their project for management training and startups for women entrepreneurs in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso.
