Veolia Africa wins the Best Energy Project Award for its contract to manage Electricité de Guinée

Veolia Africa wins the Best Energy Project Award for its contract to manage Electricité de Guinée (EDG). This prize was awarded during the 2018 Africa Investments Forum & Awards that was held today in Paris. 

This award recognizes the best Energy project based on the following criteria: the investment coherence and quality and its evolution over the past 3 years; the capacity for innovation and the CSR vision. 

The contract

Within the overall context of the electricity sector reform supported and financed by the World Bank, the objective of the management contract signed in 2015 for 4 years is to strengthen EDG by providing them skills on several key management functions in order to allow their internal recovery and improve their technical, commercial and financial performance in accordance with the objectives of the performance contract signed between the State and EDG.

Moving EDG out of a structural and operational crisis with the help of a public-private partnership to move towards the sector recovery
