Public Holidays: Closed on Christmas, Boxing Day, Good Friday and Anzac Day and open on New Years Day from 09:00am to 4:00pm.

 

Hallam Road Engineered Landfill smart cell® (not open to the public):

Monday - Friday: 6:00am - 5:00pm

Saturday: 6:00am - 1:00pm (outside these hours by arrangement)

Sunday: 7:00am - 12:00pm (price on application)

Public holidays: 6:00am - 3:00pm (customers will need to notify the weighbridge if they are there after 2:30pm)

Hampton Park Public Drop-off Area and Outlook Transfer Station

Outlook Environmental is a not-for-profit organisation with a mission of creating and facilitating sustainable opportunities for people with disadvantaged backgrounds. Around half of Outlook Environmental employees are assisted workers.

Veolia and Outlook Environmental have enjoyed a strong partnership for over 20 years. The partnership involves the joint operation of the Public Waste Transfer Station and the Outlook Market Recycled Goods Store located at Veolias's Hampton Park Recovery Precinct.

The Outlook Market Recycled Goods Store allows members of the public to drop-off potentially re-usable items for recycling. Reusable items such as toys, sporting goods, and corrugated iron are also collected and sold in the Recycled Goods Shop. All of the proceeds from the Recycled Goods Shop go directly back into the work of Outlook Environmental and their work supporting local communities.

Hampton Park Commercial and Industrial sorting facility

The Hampton Park site has a Commercial and Industrial Sorting Facility which sorts recyclables from waste loads presented at the weighbridge. Waste loads that are indicated to have a high percentage of recyclables are sent to the C&I; Sorting Facility for further investigation.

The items targeted for diversion from landfill, separation and recycling include:

Hampton Park Education Centre

The onsite Education Centre (formerly known as the Hallam Road Education Centre) provides a venue for the presentation of site information to school groups, community groups, international visitors and businesses interested in recycling, resource recovery and sustainable environmental practices.

Hallam Road Engineered Landfill (smart cell®)

The Hampton Park smart cell® (Hallam Road) site provides responsible environmental management of waste that cannot yet be reused or recycled from households, businesses and industry in the eastern and south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

The onsite gas capture system converts biogas to energy and contributes enough electricity to the network to supply power to some 6,500 homes

Currently the Hampton Park smart cell® site deploys:

  • 14 groundwater monitoring bores
  • 14 gas monitoring bores
  • 5 leachate sumps

.The Hampton Park smart cell® site has Environmental Management ISO 14001 and Occupational Health & Safety AS4801 certifications.
Under the current Planning Permit No. 930016A this smart cell® is permitted to operate until December 31, 2040. The smart cell® is also operated under the EPA Waste Discharge Licence No. ES33144.

Environment and Safety

At Veolia we take our responsibility to the safety of people and the environment seriously.
All visitors to Veolia facilities must observe site safety requirements, including wearing enclosed footwear at all times.

Veolia Environment Report Hotline

Veolia has a dedicated Environment Report Hotline for anyone living, or working, near one of our facilities in New South Wales and Victoria.

The hotline has been set up to receive feedback on environmental matters which are sometimes associated with recycling and waste management facilities – like odours, noise, dust and mud tracking.

This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your call will always be answered by a real person - not just an automated message - who will enter your feedback and forward it immediately to the staff at the facility. This allows us to take immediate action to determine the cause of any concerns you may have, and gives us the best chance of rectifying the situation quickly.
A Veolia employee will endeavour to contact you within 24 hours with feedback on your report.
