Understanding our brand
‘Veolia’ is derived from the name Aeolus, the ruler of winds in Greek mythology.
Our brand team wanted to enhance the reference to air. So they took the first letter of the French work for wind: ‘vent’. They then replaced ‘us’ at the end with ‘ia’, and our brand was born: Veolia.
What does our logo represent?
Our logo represents three elements: continuity, union, and protection.
The circle symbolises the unity of everyone in our company working together. It also references our planet and the fragility of its richness and equilibrium.
The ring represents the union between the individual and the community. It’s a symbol of how our employees work with each other, and with the wider community.
At the heart of our symbol is the representation of our people, with two arms coming together to enfold and protect.
