Women on Wheels

‘Women on Wheels’ is an essential training, development and inclusion based program designed to create opportunity for women.

Good people, and a career that makes a difference.

At Veolia Australia and New Zealand, you’ll join a team of passionate innovators... and good humans. Our environmental solutions help customers preserve and renew our natural resources, creating a better future for our planet. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to build your career, and resource the world.

At Veolia, we value diversity and inclusion. The Waste Management sector can be seen as heavily male dominated, but we believe that good workers come in all forms, and diversity of our people adds depth and richness to our business. It enables us to provide the best possible service to our customers and the community. Our ‘Women on Wheels’ program is a great initiative that supports women looking to kick-start a career in Waste Management.

We know many women are interested in a career as truck drivers, but often the cost and commitment to become accredited with a Medium Rigid or Heavy Rigid vehicle licence, without the security of a role at the end of the course can often create barriers.

As part of the Women on Wheels Program, we’re committed to removing these barriers by providing successful candidates with structured training and development, paid by Veolia. Enabling candidates the opportunity to learn on the job from supportive and experienced operators. In return, we are seeking 6 candidates with the right attitude, that will commit to the organisation for 12 months.

Starting in November 2021, the Women on Wheels program will initially be rolled out at our Cambridge, Tasmania depot and will run until November 2022.

If that isn’t enough to entice you to apply, why not attend our Open Day on Wednesday, 27 October at the depot. For more information on our Open Day click here

Veolia Environmental Services has been granted an exemption by the Tasmanian government to advertise, recruit and employ female waste collection drivers through a targeted recruitment and driver training campaign, at operational sites across Tasmania. For further information click here

What we’re looking for
