Veolia, through the acquisition of Ellwaste in July 2017, provides a comprehensive range of integrated solid waste management solutions for communities and customers in Northern Victoria.
Ellwaste is a family-owned business that was founded in 1984 and since that time has developed abroad-based business in Northern Victoria and Southern New South Wales.
Veolia owns and operates a near-new Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in Echuca that has a design capacity of approximately 20,000 tonnes per annum. The MRF processes comingled recyclables that are collected throughout the region. Recovered materials include paper cardboard, plastic, metals and glass. Recovered materials are sold to domestic and international markets.
In addition, Veolia provides on-site resource recovery solutions for commercial customers. As an example, Veolia currently provides on-site resource recovery at a major solar farm development project in the Loddon Mallee region.
