Veolia Wins Seventh Australian Business Award!

The 2016 Australian Business Awards have recognised Veolia for Sustainability and Community Contribution Excellence!

The Australian Business Awards (ABA) has been announced today, recognising Australia’s business, innovation and technology leaders. For the seventh year running, Veolia Australia and New Zealand, has won awards. This year, we were awarded both the ABA for Community Contribution, and the ABA for Sustainability.

Veolia has been awarded for their initiatives positively impacting the community and generating outcomes that have long-term benefits. The award specifically acknowledges Veolia’s Participate program that brings together community participation with sustainability education and engagement.

The program took Veolia’s existing educational framework, well regarded amongst its client base, and expanded it to engage with employees and the broader community.
Veolia’s impressive array of projects operating for the past year under the umbrella of Participate ranges from internal employee ‘green teams’ fostering a commitment and understanding of sustainability, to engagement with school groups through educational activities.

Additionally, a partnership with the Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathalon prompted patrons to actively ‘TRYrecycling’ at 12 Australia-wide events, where 55% of all waste generated was successfully diverted to recycling.

A big thanks to those who have been involved in the Participate program.
