A Message from Danny Conlon for ANZ Employees

Dear team,

These past few extraordinary months (firstly bushfires, then COVID-19) have given many of us time to reflect and reassess. Looking back on my own circumstances, including 22 wonderful years with Collex and Veolia, I know that now is the right time for me to explore my next chapter.

From 1 September, Richard Kirkman will join Veolia Australia and New Zealand as your CEO and Managing Director. Richard joins us from the Veolia UK & Ireland business, and brings with him 26 years of Veolia experience, including energy, collections, innovation, technical and performance, energy from waste and commodities. This wealth of experience will help take the ANZ business to the next level, as we work with our customers in the public and private sector to transition to a circular economy. I will remain in the business in the interim to support Richard in his transition.

With the implementation of our Impact ANZ strategy, supported by our reorganisation into a more focussed, disciplined and accountable team, there is no doubt that Veolia is positioned to grow and lead in the provision of environmental solutions throughout Australia and New Zealand.

My fondest memories of my time here are the personal interactions and the conversations I've enjoyed with so many of you. I still believe that people come to work wanting one or a combination of three key things - security, opportunity and prosperity. Veolia will always be a place for those people, and I am evidence of that.

I look forward to catching up with many of you (travel restrictions permitting) during this transition over the coming months.

Take care,
