Veolia offers preliminary diagnostic analysis, audit and advisory services as part of our energy performance contracting feasibility study, which can be contracted via an agreement, a letter of intent (LOI) or project development agreement.
What is the purpose behind our energy audit and advisory services as part of our energy solutions?
The purpose of our audit and advisory services is to evaluate the potential of energy savings that can be made on the customer’s site.
This analysis then makes it possible to identify the potential for energy savings: prioritisation of activities based on savings (energy, water and financial), investments needed, technical difficulty involved, etc.
Following this stage, a Go/No Go decision must be taken with the customer on the basis of the potential energy savings identified.
What are the components of our energy audit and advisory services?
First off, the site’s energy data are collected such as the general description of the site, analysis of the most recent energy bills (electricity, gas, fuel-oil, etc.) and description of main energy transformation systems (heating, refrigeration, lighting, water, etc.).
An energy model is then produced for the site, determining a building’s specific ratios, working out energy consumption for each type of usage. This may include:
- Calculation of main ratios (any activity or weather parameter corrections): Heating kWh/m²; lighting W/m², etc.
- Comparison with benchmarks
- Breakdown of energy consumption per usage type.
Afterwards, a targeted measurement campaign is implemented to identify the actual performance of equipment, together with its operating modes, then an analysis of the results. Simulation and analysis of the feasibility of targeted areas for progress and validation of the energy savings are to be expected because this makes it possible to quantify actual savings and plan improvement actions to be implemented.
Overall, this audit will help us commit to energy savings after defining a reference situation and a scope. A binding offer concerning the energy savings proposed and the roadmap of improvements to be made will conclude our audit and advisory services.
