Contaminated Containers

Contaminated containers are empty metal drums or containers that have not been rinsed.

They could have residues of oil, paint, solvents, resins, inks, adhesives, detergent etc., which need to be decontaminated and can be recycled or reused.

Does Veolia accept contaminated containers?

Veolia’s highly trained and experienced team can safely collect, transport, decontaminate and recycle or dispose of contaminated containers.

The containers are inspected and loaded onto our specialised waste fleet for transport to a treatment facility. The containers will go through an initial testing process to identify the contaminates so they can be treated and/or rinsed.

Reusable drums are stored and returned to the appropriate chemical company. 205 litre and 60 litre drums can be sent to a metal recycler or for reuse.
