The US hazardous waste market is expected to reach 8 million tons per year by 2027, driven by industrial reshoring and increasingly stringent environmental regulations. In April 2024, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued the first federal regulation limiting the presence of six PFAS in drinking water.

## **Cutting-edge technologies** to eliminate 99.99% tons of pollutants

In operation since the 1980s, Veolia’s Port Arthur incinerator treats complex waste streams from a wide range of industries, including chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and microelectronics. It is the only facility in the US authorized by the EPA to eliminate dioxin waste, and it integrates the full hazardous waste value chain:

- Collection, sorting, and recycling of hazardous industrial waste
- Physico-chemical treatment and high-temperature incineration
