Veolia provides a complete wastewater treatment and recycling solution for aquaculture.

We has developed the [RAS 2020](https://www.veoliawatertechnologies.com/en/solutions/technologies/ras2020) recirculating aquaculture system that involves [reusing wastewater](/en/solutions/wastewater-reuse "Wastewater reuse"), after numerous treatment processes, to feed the fish ponds.

This onshore aquaculture system is based on two proprietary technologies:

- [the AnoxKaldnes™ MBBR (Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor)](https://www.veoliawatertechnologies.com/en/solutions/technologies/anoxkaldnes-mbbr) for biological water treatment to remove carbon and/or nitrogen pollution;
- [Hydrotech drum filters](https://www.veoliawatertechnologies.com/en/technologies/hydrotech-drumfilter) to separate particles from fish excrement, for example, or from excess food.

The salmon produced are free of hormones, antibiotics and other harmful chemicals.
