Customer advantages:
  • Lower environmental impact from the plants
  • Recycling of energy and materials
Thanks to its broad range of competences within energy, water and recycling, Veolia has found several synergies in the task which has resulted in an effective use of resources:
  • At the manufacturing plants in Vesoul, 7,500 tons of wooden packaging are recycled and turned into biofuel for one of the boiler plants built in 2012.
  • In Souchaux, the energy optimisation of the plant has resulted in a solution which puts to use the process heat from production that used to be wasted, as well as the installation of one of France’s largest solar cell systems.
  • At the plant in Mulhouse, Veolia has reduced PSA Peugeot Citroën’s carbon dioxide emissions by replacing the use of solid fuel oil with natural gas.
In total, Veolia’s energy efficiency improvement has resulted in energy savings corresponding to 17 per cent for PSA Peugeot Citroën. Currently, Veolia is even doing research and development within the recycling of engine parts and materials, and in eco design in order to further support PSA’s objective of reaching a sustainable development of its own activities.
