Earth Day 2020: Morocco and Niger take action

April 22, 2020 marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. This year's theme is "Climate Action", as climate change is the greatest challenge for the planet future. This day aims to show the need to take action for the environment.

Despite the global context marked by the COVID-19 pandemic, Veolia's Africa zone is celebrating Earth Day in order to raise awareness of respect for the environment and remind people of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitments.

Amendis raises awareness of eco-gestures around the use of household appliances, recycling and environmental protection and recalls its commitments to the planet, including the promotion of environmental culture and good practices internally and the sustainable rationalisation of the resources use in order to contribute to climate change effects mitigation and biodiversity preservation.

- For its part, Redal is launching a photo competition under the theme "Nature around you". The principle is simple: take a photograph of nature and share it on Redal's social networks. The result is a nice surprise for the winner. It's an opportunity to become aware of the nature that surrounds us and its fragility. More broadly, Redal develops every year various awareness-raising actions for the preservation of the environment in partnership with local associations and foundations specialized in the environmental field.

The SEEN also celebrates Earth Day.  Its commitment to the planet is reflected in the actions that it continues to implement: co-creation of a third place dedicated to the promotion of circular economy, establishment of a vegetable garden of nearly a hectare, planting of fruit trees, environmental awareness, health in various environments.
