New Advisory Council for Veolia ANZ

Members of the new Veolia Australia and New Zealand Advisory Council have met for the first time at the national office headquartered in Pyrmont, New South Wales.

The inaugural Council members include a strongly experienced team with varied backgrounds, including across climate science academia, industry and business - chaired by Elizabeth Ann McGregor AM OBE:

These experts will provide Veolia’s executive leadership team with an external view on strategic issues to:

• Challenge and review our business strategy for ecological transformation to better align with the issues facing Australia and New Zealand, such as climate change, policy drivers and social blockers;
• Share insights about what stakeholders are motivated by and expect from Veolia;
• Recommend the path for progress on other strategies already deployed or being prepared, such as our net zero ambitions.

Veolia CEO and Managing Director Richard Kirkman welcomed the new Members to help fast-track our direction for the company.

“I’m thrilled to have secured such strong and highly experienced group to assist in driving Veolia ANZ forward, and a set of critical friends is invaluable,” said Dr. Kirkman.

“We are at the forefront of ecological transformation in Australia and aiming to employ another 1,000 staff within the next four years as we continue to invest in our local operations - as such, it’s time for us to get to the next level and secure additional support to deliver our climate recovery targets.

“Advisory Members will help us to build a diverse team of business savvy and purpose driven stakeholders, to test, challenge and provide insights on Veolia's 2027 strategic direction, paving the way for climate change prevention and building a circular economy.”

Chair and Members are appointed on an annual basis to meet 4 to 5 times a year.
