Accident prevention and health and safety are permanent priorities for Veolia in all its activities. Everywhere we operate, we have an unshakeable commitment to protecting the physical and mental wellbeing of our employees. To deliver on this commitment, Veolia operates a health and safety center of excellence with 15 global specialists and 130 local representatives. Targets for accident frequency rates are now included in the criteria for managers’ incentive payments.
As part of its health and safety prevention policy, every year Veolia organizes the International Health and Safety at Work Week. Teams worldwide take action to improve practices and awareness.
In 2018, in every country where Veolia operates, employees were reminded of the importance of complying with safety rules at work as well as in their private lives. A whole host of activities were organized, including competitions, workshops, practical exercises, contributions from outside experts (police, neuroscientists, firefighters, doctors, etc.), videos, newsletters, and employees’ sharing their individual experiences. Every day saw a range of events laid on by Veolia and, in some countries, by our staff.
This 4th edition of Veolia’s International Health and Safety at Work Week was another step in the process of developing our in-house safety culture with the goal of achieving zero accidents.
