Veoliaforce is the skills sponsorship arm of the Veolia Foundation’s international solidarity effort. Veoliaforce is made up of 500 women and men from Veolia who provide their professional expertise to emergency and development missions.
In practical terms, they intervene in the aftermath of a disaster or to provide lasting improvements to the living conditions of the poorest, taking action during their working hours and paid for by Veolia. The Veolia Foundation coordinates and pays for logistical and travel costs and funds equipment that is usually left onsite. Over 150 field missions have been completed since 2004.
After hurricane Irma swept through the Caribbean, Veolia, as operator responsible for water distribution on Saint-Martin and water production on Saint-Barthélémy, took swift action to deal with the emergency, prioritizing the re-establishment of essential services.
