The Ellen MacArthur Foundation is very aware that our linear consumption model is reaching its limits and that the circular economy is an interesting, credible alternative. So the foundation has launched the New Plastics Economy initiative.
Veolia has joined this ambitious initiative as a Core Partner. The action plan brings together leading companies and cities, sponsors, public decision-makers, academics, students, NGOs and individual citizens with the aim of rethinking and remaking the future of plastics, starting with packaging.
The foundation proposes a set of measures that would increase plastic packaging recycling from 14% to 70% via a three-point strategy: eco-design, reuse and recycling.
