Estelle Brachlianoff: “With Veolia Cares, all employees can rely on a common core of employee benefits”

Veolia Cares

Driven by Estelle Brachlianoff, the deployment of the Veolia Cares program guarantees a common core of employee benefits for the Group’s 213 000 employees regardless of geographies where nothing is required by law. Unprecedented in its scope, the program offers every employee parental leave, health and death cover, support for caregivers and a paid day off every year to volunteer with a charity or with an environmental protection organisation.

A common core of employee benefits for all

Deployed in September 2023 on a global scale, the Veolia Cares program is the first of its kind to provide a practical response to geographical disparities in social protection for environmental professions, and is aimed at all Group employees with fixed-term or permanent contracts.

With the establishment of a common base level, Veolia supports each employee and their family in the important stages of their life by guaranteeing them equitable social protection.

A program in line with the Group's multi-faceted performance strategy

A global champion of ecological transformation and a benchmark ESG company, Veolia steers the deployment of its solutions with the multi-faceted performance strategy, with the same level of consideration and expectations as regards its economic, financial, commercial, social, societal and environmental performance. Within this framework, Veolia Cares reinforces the Group's social commitment, by improving the professional and personal well-being of its employees.

The Veolia Cares program complements other social performance initiatives recently implemented by the Group, including the Sequoia 2022 employee shareholding operation, which resulted in employees becoming Veolia’s largest shareholder in January 2023.

"At Veolia, we are convinced that the professional and personal well-being of employees is a key element to their commitment.”
Estelle Brachlianoff
Chief Executive Officer of Veolia.

“They are the primary driving force behind the Group's performance and development. With this in mind, we have rolled out a program on an unprecedented scale to 213,000 employees on 5 continents. In the coming years, the challenges of ecological transformation will be ever greater, and it's up to us to meet them.”
