Veolia partners with the Alpine Paris Major: making sport a driver of environmental security

Alpine Paris Major Scoreboard

From September 6 to 13, the French Tennis Federation is hosting the Alpine Paris Major Premier Padel, one of the major events on the international padel circuit. As a partner of the event, Veolia is committed to making sport a genuine driver of progress by helping make sporting activities more sustainable and strengthening their positive impact at the heart of local communities. This year once again, the partnership also includes a fundraising initiative in support of La Maison des Femmes.

Making sport a more sustainable model

Sport brings people together, builds connections and inspires new ways of doing things. For Veolia, it also provides a tremendous testing ground for accelerating the environmental transition. Through its partnerships in racket sports, Veolia supports the development of fast-growing disciplines while putting its environmental expertise to work to make sporting events more responsible.

The ambition: to help move sport toward more sustainable models by combining sporting excellence with environmental performance. Managing and preserving water resources, reducing and recovering waste, and adopting more resource-efficient solutions are all ways of rethinking the environmental footprint of sporting events in practical terms.

This approach is fully aligned with Veolia’s DNA: innovating, sharing its expertise and taking concrete action to accelerate environmental security.

Padel, a team sport that embodies the values of progress

Accessible, social and rapidly growing, padel is attracting an increasingly broad audience. A doubles sport above all, it is built on complementarity, teamwork and the ability to move forward together. These values resonate with Veolia’s vision, in which sport is also a way to engage more closely with communities and build connections with citizens.

Through its partnership with the Alpine Paris Major, Veolia is helping turn this major sporting event into an opportunity for people to come together, while also showcasing the transformations that can help make sporting practices more environmentally responsible.

A sporting commitment that also takes the form of solidarity

Because sport’s positive impact extends beyond the court, a fundraising campaign is being launched during the Alpine Paris Major in support of La Maison des Femmes 93.

Founded in Saint-Denis in 2016, La Maison des Femmes supports women facing difficult circumstances and victims of violence through a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach. Its work focuses in particular on care, prevention and advocacy, providing medical, psychological, social, legal and administrative support tailored to each individual situation. Today, the Restart network of La Maison des Femmes supports 17,000 women every year and includes 31 centers across France, with the ambition of helping reduce violence against women.

Through this fundraising campaign, Veolia is inviting participants and spectators at the Alpine Paris Major to provide concrete support for the work of La Maison des Femmes 93 and help make this major sporting event a moment of solidarity.

By combining its environmental expertise with concrete initiatives in the field, Veolia is furthering its ambition to make sport a genuine vehicle for progress, innovation and inclusion, benefiting both the environment and local communities.

Once again this year, Veolia is proud to partner with the Alpine Paris Major at Roland-Garros alongside the French Tennis Federation, and to work with its partners to help promote sport that is more sustainable, more inclusive and more united in solidarity.
