Renault and Veolia have built the first zero-emission, zero-discharge car production plant. The site’s thermal energy consumption is down 35%, and the use of renewable energies has increased. A water recirculation loop has reduced the site's water consumption by 70% (equivalent to 175 Olympic swimming pools per year).
In 2010, Veolia became the sole partner of biopharmaceutical giant BMS for which it combines technical services and services at 11 production sites in Europe. The scope of services provided by Veolia is extremely wide: utilities and water cycle management, multitechnical maintenance, cleaning, outdoor space management, laboratory support activities and the provision of a number of services for building occupants, including cleaning, reception and catering.
Since 2001, Veolia has supported Novartis’ operational, economic and environmental performance on its Basel industrial platform - a global showcase for the pharmaceutical giant. Veolia is responsible for and optimizes the water cycle management (drinking water, ultra-pure water, industrial water, and demineralized water) and energy flow management (electricity, steam, superheated water, compressed air, cooling water) on all the Basel sites, as well as delivering waste collection and treatment, including recycling special waste. In 2014, the partnership between Veolia and Novartis was extended to include all the pharmaceutical group’s European site.
