Angel Simon, Senior Executive Vice President, Iberia & Latin America

Ángel Simón (Manresa, 1957) graduated in Civil Engineering at the Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña. He has exercised his profession as an engineer in various companies, was Manager of Barcelona Metropolitan Area and, in 1995, joined the Agbar Group as its Representative in Portugal. In 1999 he relocated to Chile, on being appointed General Manager of Aguas Andinas, one of the biggest water management companies of Latin America. In 2002, he took up the post of General Manager of Aguas de Barcelona, a firm in which he held different positions, until in 2010 he became Chairman of Agbar, a benchmark group of companies in complete water cycle management with over 150 years of history. 

From 2013 to 2022 he was Executive Vicepresident of SUEZ, most recently in charge of Southern Europe and Latin America.

Following an integration process, since March 2022 he has served as Senior Vice President Iberia & Latam in Veolia.

In December 2020 he received the Medal of Honour 2020 for Business Person of the Year, awarded by Foment del Treball for his leadership of the company he chairs and as recognition of the efforts made to guarantee access to water and sanitation.
