What is a dividend?
A dividend is the portion of annual net income that the company pays out to its shareholders. The amount to be paid is proposed by the Board of Directors and approved by the shareholders’ meeting. The dividend must be paid within 9 months of the close of the fiscal year. In the case of Veolia Environnement, it is paid after its approval by the shareholders.

To be entitled to a dividend, you must own a share at the so-called “coupon removal” date.
You don’t need to do anything in order to receive your dividend : if you own bearer or administered registered shares, your financial intermediary will pay this automatically into your bank account. If you own pure registered shares, you will receive your dividend by check or credit transfer from Société Générale.
