Benjamin Chan-Piu is the Director of the Hazardous Waste segment at the Veolia’s Business Support & Performance department, where he oversees the support to hazardous waste activities throughout the Group (300+ facilities and a community of 18’000 Resourcers).
Benjamin began his career in the rare earths industry at Rhodia, where he held positions in China and the United States. After joining Suez in 1999, he played several roles in the European hazardous waste BU before taking on positions in Asia.
As Managing Director of a South Korean subsidiary (2006-2010), he led industrial waste collection, treatment, and recycling operations. From 2010 to 2015, he was the General Manager of SCIP SITA Waste, Asia's largest hazardous waste incineration facility. He then became the Director of Suez's hazardous waste business in Asia, where he oversaw the design, construction and operation of 10 hazardous waste treatment facilities, a position he held until the merger with Veolia in 2022.
