Camden Organic Resource Recovery Facility

Most environmentally sustainable solution to the recycling of organic matter

The facility has the capacity to process up to 50,000 tonnes per year of organic material, including kerbside garden organics from residential collections or transfer stations, VENM sand from Sydney excavation work, black sand from coal washeries, horse manure, duck manure, clinker ash and pine bark fines. This material is converted into high quality composts and soil conditioners.

The composted organic products are tailored to meet market demands, and the process is designed to consistently deliver this outcome. Incoming feedstocks are carefully blended in proportions that ensure the resulting compost meets end use requirements, with parameters including correct moisture content and ratios of nitrogen and phosphorous.

All the garden organics received are reduced in size by a shredder. The small pieces of organic matter are stacked in open windrows, kept moist and turned regularly over a period of 16-20 weeks. The turning lets oxygen in, which helps bugs to break down the material, and generates heat.

The Veolia range of compost and mulch products are produced to Australian Standards and include Garden-ARRT™ Premium Mix, Lawn-ARRT™, Underlay, Veggie-ARRT™ Igloo R2 and Potted-ARRT™ Planter Box. These products are sold to wholesalers, landscapers, councils and mine sites for land rehabilitation, rejuvenation and beautification.

Veolia Environment Report Hotline

Veolia has a dedicated Environment Report Hotline for anyone living, or working, near one of our facilities in New South Wales and Victoria.

The hotline has been set up to receive feedback on environmental matters which are sometimes associated with recycling and waste management facilities – like odours, noise, dust and mud tracking.

This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your call will always be answered by a real person - not just an automated message - who will enter your feedback and forward it immediately to the staff at the facility. This allows us to take immediate action to determine the cause of any concerns you may have, and gives us the best chance of rectifying the situation quickly.
A Veolia employee will endeavour to contact you within 24 hours with feedback on your report.

To provide your feedback, please call:
