Veolia Eastern Creek Resource Recovery Park
Eastern Creek Resource Recovery Park in Sydney’s west is home to two innovative waste processing facilities: an ORRF, diverting organics from landfill and converting them into valuable resources for healthy plant growth; and an ARRT, which uses advanced specialist technologies to recover and recycle more from waste. Together, these facilities lead the change from traditional waste disposal to economically sustainable resource recovery solutions.

Eastern Creek ARRT Facility
Unlike traditional waste disposal methods, such as conventional and bioreactor landfills and incineration, Veolia’s ARRT facilities employ advanced technologies to separate and compost organic materials and extract recyclables from garbage collected by local councils.
Eastern Creek ARRT opened in 2004 and is owned and operated by Global Renewables. The facility currently processes 220,000 tonnes of waste per annum, diverting it from landfill and recovering and returning valuable resources to the economy.

Eastern Creek ORRF
Established in 2010, the Eastern Creek ORRF helps divert organic materials from landfill by processing them into composts and conditioners, recycling untreated timber into mulches and biofuels.
The site can process up to 50,000 tonnes of source-separated organic materials each year. Open windrow composting technology is used to produce high-quality compost and mulch products for use in home gardens, agriculture, sporting fields and public spaces.

Wallgrove Road Engineered Landfill (smart cell®)(closed)
Veolia has exclusive rights to access the Eastern Creek Landfill (also known as Wallgrove Road Landfill), owned and operated by the NSW Government's Waste Assets Management Corporation (WAMC).
With a capacity to accept 550,000 tonnes of putrescible waste each year, the landfill technology deployed is similar to that of Veolia's New Illawarra Road Landfill at Lucas Heights, NSW.
The Eastern Creek Landfill has a number of electricity plants installed, which have a combined capacity of 12.7MW.

Environment and Safety
At Veolia we take our responsibility to the safety of people and the environment seriously.
All visitors to Veolia facilities must observe site safety requirements, including wearing enclosed footwear at all times.
Veolia Environment Report Hotline
Veolia has a dedicated Environment Report Hotline for anyone living, or working, near one of our facilities in New South Wales and Victoria.
The hotline has been set up to receive feedback on environmental matters which are sometimes associated with recycling and waste management facilities – like odours, noise, dust and mud tracking.
This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your call will always be answered by a real person - not just an automated message - who will enter your feedback and forward it immediately to the staff at the facility. This allows us to take immediate action to determine the cause of any concerns you may have, and gives us the best chance of rectifying the situation quickly.
A Veolia employee will endeavour to contact you within 24 hours with feedback on your report.
