CORIO Medical Facility, VIC

Veolia is a market leading provider of sustainable solutions, striving to effectively collaborate with our clients and the community to collectively reduce our impact on the environment. At Veolia, it is not just business as usual. We recognise the world’s resources are rapidly depleting and through our mission to resource the world, we aim to think outside the square when it comes to waste management.

Through decades of experience, we have found that medical and hygiene related streams are a common yet often problematic form of waste. Veolia is one of the very few providers in Victoria who have the ability to provide fully integrated waste solutions that include the acceptance, transport and processing of these types of waste, irrespective of location.

One of our key points of difference is our purpose-built, EPA licensed clinical waste processing facility located in Corio, Victoria. Here, a high powered shredder is able to reduce original input volume by 90% and thermal treatment technology of utilising steam is what destroys all harmful bacteria present in sharps and other forms of clinical waste.

The facility has the capacity to operate 24/7, where it is supported by Victoria’s largest medical fleet of 23 vehicles varying in size from long wheel base vans through to heavy rigid trucks.
