On 26 June 2018 at the World Nuclear Exhibition in Villepinte (France), EDF and Veolia signed a partnership agreement to co-develop remote control solutions for dismantling gas-cooled reactors (UNGG Uranium Naturel Graphite Gaz) and for vitrifying radioactive waste, in France and worldwide.

Every year, the Veolia Student Solidarity Awards recognize innovative solidarity projects run by higher education students in France and internationally. The selected projects fall within the Veolia Foundation’s 3 areas of intervention: humanitarian emergencies and development aid, social and employment support, the environment and protection of biodiversity. Yesterday morning, Antoine Frérot, Veolia’s Chairman and CEO, presented the winners with their awards. They will receive financial support and technical sponsorship from the Group.

The Plastic Odyssey team has designed a catamaran, which runs on fuel produced by recycling plastic waste. A prototype was launched today at Concarneau (France), in the company of Brune Poirson, Secretary of State for Ecological and Inclusive Transition, and Roland Jourdain, a sailor.
